Slack

Jutsu sends alert and incident notifications to Slack through an incoming webhook, so new activity lands in the channels your team already watches. Each message carries a short summary and a link back into Jutsu.

Overview

Slack delivery is configured at the organization level: you add one webhook for your workspace and Jutsu fans out notifications to the channel that webhook points at. This sits alongside per-user email preferences—see Notifications & SLAs for how the two levels work together.

Create a Slack webhook

In Slack, create an incoming webhook for the channel you want Jutsu to post to:

  1. Open your Slack workspace's app settings and create (or open) an app for incoming webhooks.
  2. Enable Incoming Webhooks and add a new webhook to the workspace.
  3. Choose the destination channel and authorize it.
  4. Copy the generated webhook URL—it points at one specific channel.
Slack's app and webhook screens change over time. Follow Slack's current incoming-webhooks documentation for the exact steps, and confirm the channel before you save.

Connect in Jutsu

In your organization's notification settings, choose Slack as a delivery channel and paste the webhook URL. Save, and Jutsu will use that webhook for Slack notifications. Send a test notification if available to confirm messages reach the channel.

Choose what to notify

Notifications are grouped into categories such as alerts, incidents, cases, and reports. Pick which categories should reach Slack so the channel stays focused on what your team needs to act on, rather than every event. Each delivered message includes the key facts and a link to open the item in Jutsu.

Troubleshooting

  • No messages in Slack — re-check the webhook URL and that the webhook's channel still exists and the app is installed in the workspace.
  • Messages in the wrong channel — an incoming webhook is bound to one channel; generate a new webhook for the channel you want and update it in Jutsu.
  • Too many or too few notifications — adjust which categories are enabled for the Slack channel in your notification settings.
